The Kohimarama Way - Commitment (Manawanui)
"The only limit to your impact is your imagination and commitment." Tony Robbins. "Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilisation work." Vince Lombardi.
Students Leaving
As we begin our classroom planning for 2025, we ask those families who have made plans and have a student who will be leaving Kohimarama School at the end of 2024 school year to complete this form. The last day of school is 17 December 2024.
Note: The form does not need to be completed for Year 8 students.
Many thanks for your support in assisting us with our advance planning.

EPRO8 Semi Finals
On Friday, Kohimarama sent two year 6 teams to compete at the EPRO8 semi finals.
To get to this stage the teams had already placed in the top 3 teams at the interschool heats.
Both teams chose to construct an automated curtain for their first build. A toilet and a toaster were their second builds.
Team ‘The Bananas’ took the lead from the start of the competition and held it throughout, securing a spot at the finals.
Team ‘The hot shods’ were placed in a nail-biting 3 way tie for 3rd place. In their tie breaker challenge they had 3 minutes to build the tallest tower, which they did, meaning they are also off to the finals.
Congratulations Yuuki, Joshua, Thomas, Spencer, Ollie, Dash, Harry and Szymon.

Short Community Survey
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring we meet the needs and aspirations of our students, staff, and families, we are conducting a short survey to gather your feedback. This is a valuable opportunity to share your thoughts on how we’re progressing and where we can make meaningful improvements.
The survey will only take a few minutes to complete, and your responses will remain anonymous. A link to the survey will be sent to you in the next day or so, and we encourage everyone to take part. Your input is invaluable in helping us build on our strengths and continue to create a positive, connected school community.
Thank you for your ongoing support and engagement.

Colour Splash Frequently Asked Questions
If you haven got your ticket yet, purchase this on Kindo. Discounted early bird price of just
$15 finishes 25 November 2024, from 26 November there will be a small price rise.
Q: What is this ‘Colour’ event all about? A: It is our own special Kohimarama School Colour Splash. There is a short course with some obstacles to get over, under and around, and some colour powder stations along the way. The event is rain or shine - if it rains it’s even more fun as the colour sticks better!
Q: Who can enter? A: Anyone can enter, you can enter the children, parents, bring the extended family along and even the neighbours. You don’t need to be a Kohimarama student to get involved.
Q: Can we run with our friends? A: Yes absolutely. Just stand with your friends at the start line and you can participate together. If your kids are Y0-2, we ask that an adult or older sibling runs with them from a health and safety point of view. Kids love to see parents getting involved too.
Q: What happens after I finish the course? A: We encourage all school families to join us on the field for a group colour throw and then for a picnic. We will be selling sausages plus a huge amount of delicious home baking at the Bake Sale.
Q: I’ve got an older child who would like to help marshal. How do they get in touch? A: Please ask them to email us – kohiPTAchair@gmail.com. We are happy to provide community service sign off if needed.
Q: I am not a runner, will I still be able to participate? A: Definitely! All challenges are on school grounds, so not big distances to cover. Walking, skipping, hopping or dancing along the route is fine as long as you are having fun.
Q: How do I get my white t-shirt? A: Purchase your ticket before Monday 2 December and have
your race pack (t-shirt) delivered to your child’s classroom prior to race day.
If you have any questions regarding anything you have read, please feel free to reach out to your class coordinator or directly to the PTA on kohiptachair@gmail.com.
