The Kohimarama Way - Reliable/Totika
The way we know we are successful in practising being reliable is if we make promises we can keep, we treat our agreements seriously, we plan ahead, we do our best, we finish on time and we find another way if obstacles occur and we definitely let people know in plenty of time if circumstances change and we need to alter our agreed meeting time.
Parking Issues around the School
Over the past week, we have received reports of instances where parking by some parents has unfortunately caused significant inconvenience to both our school neighbours and the school itself. Specifically, there have been occasions where vehicles have been parked in or across residential driveways, blocking access for residents.
We understand that drop-off and pick-up times can be busy, and parking immediately outside the school can be challenging. However, it is absolutely crucial that we all adhere to the road rules and are considerate of those who live in the vicinity of the school, as well as other road users.
Parking across or in a driveway is illegal and causes significant frustration and disruption for residents needing to leave for work or access their properties. It also impacts the positive relationship we aim to maintain with our local community.
We kindly request that all parents and caregivers please take extra care when parking near the school. Please ensure that you are parked legally and are not obstructing driveways, pedestrian crossings, or any other access points. Please also be mindful of stopping on broken yellow lines which obstructs our road patrol students from seeing oncoming vehicles. Please consider parking a short distance away and walking with your children if safe and feasible.
Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated and helps to ensure the safety and positive relationships within our school community and with our neighbours.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
