Before and After School Care
We are pleased to remind you about our before and after school care program, designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for our students. This program not only offers supervision but also includes various activities to promote creativity and collaboration among peers. Bizzy Bodz were selected from a number of established providers. Their programme reflected our Kohimarama Way and allowed for bespoke aspects to be included so that our Kohimarama School students would benefit from a varied and wide ranging list of activities.

Teacher Only Day - Tuesday 29th October

In partnership with Bizzy Bodz who will be onsite to run a special programme for students on this day. This programme will engage students in a variety of fun and educational activities, all within the familiar environment of our school. It’s a great way for students to stay active and involved during the day.

Walking School Bus
Our Walking School Bus initiative continues to be set up to support our students getting safely to school. This is supported by Auckland Transport, alongside a dedicated group of parents and Desiree Young, our teacher in Room 18.  We encourage families to participate, promoting both physical activity and community bonding. It’s a great way for students to enjoy the outdoors and arrive at school energised for the day ahead.

Play First, Eat After Trial
This term, we will commence our trial of "Play First, Eat After", allowing students to enjoy unstructured playtime before eating. Early feedback from the first two days has been positive and we believe this approach enhances social interactions and improves focus in the classroom once play and eating have taken place in that order.

Our Successful Music Programmes

Our music programmes continue to go from strength to strength. Promoting the music and band programmes emphasises how learning individual instruments, like piano, guitar, drums, and others, not only helps students develop their musical skills but also enhances cognitive engagement. This fosters creativity, discipline and teamwork, especially as students come together to form our rock and brass bands. 

Accelerating Learning
As we approach the end of the year, our focus remains on supporting students to accelerate their learning. Teachers are dedicated to providing tailored support to help every student reach their full potential. We encourage parents to engage in discussions with teachers about how you can further support your child's learning at home.
