Out of Zone Enrolment

 OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENTS FOR 2026

The Kohimarama School Board has determined that there are 23 out of zone places for 2026.
They are as follows:

Yr0/1 - 5 places
Yr3 - 6 places
Yr4 - 3 places
Yr5 - 3 places
Yr6 - 3 places
Yr7 - 3 places

Application forms for the out-of-zone ballot can be found here or obtained from our school office or by email. 
If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. 
The deadline for applications is Wednesday 8th October 2025 and the draw (if needed) will be Wednesday 15th October 2025.

Applications for Out of Zone Enrolments will be processed in the following order:

  • First Priority– (This priority category is not applicable at Kohimarama School because this school does not run a special programme). 
  • Second Prioritywill be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
  • Third Prioritywill be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
  • Fourth Prioritywill be given to applicants who are children of former students.
  • Fifth Prioritywill be given to applicants who are children of Board employees.
  • Sixth Prioritywill be given to all other Students.

If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth or fifth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary under Section 11G (1) of the Education Act 1989. Parents will be informed of the date of any ballot by notice in the school newsletter and community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.
