A Message from the Deputy Principals
Student Leaders 2025
We are very pleased and proud to introduce our Student Leaders for 2025. These students have put themselves forward to take on important leadership roles that support all our students and make our school the great place it is. We would like to thank them for the time and effort they will be putting in over 2025 and wish them all the best for the challenges and opportunities ahead of them.

"Take care of your reputation. It's your most valuable asset." Anonymous. "There is a longing among all people to have a sense of purpose and worth. To satisfy that common longing in all of us we must respect each other." Chief Dan George
Unattended students on school grounds
Please be reminded that students may not be left unattended on the school grounds before or after school. (before 8.15am and after 3.15pm). Parents are required to supervise their children on playgrounds and in the school grounds.
If you must drop your child before 8.15am and are unable to collect your child after 3.15pm then they must be enrolled in our before and after school care programme, Bizzy Bodz.
This is a Health and Safety requirement which must be adhered to for the safety of your child. We have had accidents before and after school where unsupervised students were injured in the playground. Kohimarama School staff cannot be responsible for students outside of school hours for instruction.
Learning Snapshots
Our upcoming Learning Conversations provide a valuable opportunity to share an up-to-date picture of where your child is currently in their learning journey. These conversations also allow us to discuss the next learning goals, ensuring that we are all on the same page - parents, teachers and students alike. In some cases, the teacher and student will be leading these discussions.
We encourage all families to book a time to meet with their child’s teacher on one of the following dates:
Wednesday 9th April – 1:30pm to 6:00pm
Thursday 10th April – 3:15pm to 8:00pm
The link is open to book your appointment via School Interviews - https://www.
Please note that school will close at 1:00pm on Wednesday 9th April to accommodate these conversations.
If your child is unable to be picked up at this time, please complete this form by Friday 4th April so we can make necessary arrangements.
We look forward to connecting with you and continuing to support your child’s learning journey together.
Kohimarama School Swimming Sports (Years 5-8) Monday 10th March 2025
We are excited to invite you to support our first major sporting event for 2025 – our Swimming Sports! This event will take place on Monday 10th March, at the Sacred Heart College indoor pool, located at 250 West Tamaki Road, Glendowie.
The races will run from approximately 9:30am to 1:30pm and we would love to have you there to cheer our students on. The atmosphere is always lively and supportive and it’s a great opportunity to come together as a community to encourage our young athletes and cheer for the house teams.
We are fortunate to have the support of Sacred Heart College Year 12 students, who, as part of their service module, will be acting as our timekeepers for the event. Their assistance is much appreciated and adds to the sense of collaboration and community spirit.
While we are unable to provide exact start times for each race, we’ve included the order of events below as a general guide. Please note that events with fewer entries may be combined.
We encourage all parents to come along, get involved, and show their support as we make this event a memorable one for our students. We look forward to seeing you there and thank you in advance for your encouragement and enthusiasm.

Invitation Evening on the Year 7&8 Program at Kohimarama School
I warmly invite you to an Information Evening about the Intermediate Years (Years 7 & 8) at Kohimarama School, which will be held on Monday 10th March at 6:30pm in the School Hall.
This evening presents a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the rich learning experiences, leadership opportunities and strong academic foundations that our Year 7 & 8 program offers. Whether your child is transitioning into these important years or you’re simply curious about our approach, this session will provide valuable insights.
We are also delighted to welcome Patrick Walsh, Principal of Sacred Heart College, who will join us for the evening, along with past Kohimarama students who will share their personal experiences after completing Year 8 with us.
To help you prepare for the evening, please find attached here an overview of our Intermediate Years Program for your review.
We look forward to welcoming you to this informative event and hope to see you there!
