A Message from Snell Team
Last Friday the Year 7 and 8 Learning Space were fortunate enough to get to experience a session about marine mammals and how we can protect them. We were taught through VR headsets. We were shown videos on the headsets, usually lasting two minutes a video, then we would have a conversation with our classmates about what looked polluted in the videos. For example one video was flying over Hauraki Gulf and looking at all the thriving wildlife, then we would look below the water and see all the Kina (sea urchins) destroying the seaweed, this made us realise exactly how damaging climate change is. From a Southern Right whales journey that stretched from Campbell Island to Australia and then onto Antarctica, to flying over the waters of the Hauraki Gulf they all told a significant story. It was an amazing experience and we are very grateful for being able to do it.

Snell Team Rugby Sessions with Grammar Tech.
Snell Team has been fortunate to take part in four rugby sessions led by representatives from Grammar Tech Rugby Club. Throughout these sessions, students developed key rugby skills, including passing techniques, quick reaction drills, and learning how to tackle the tackle bag safely. The coaches brought great energy and enthusiasm, creating a fun and engaging environment for all students. Each week, the children had the opportunity to apply their new skills in an adapted game of rugby often resulting in muddy PE gear and plenty of laughter. These sessions were a fantastic experience for everyone involved, and we are grateful to the Grammar Tech team for sharing their expertise and passion for the sport.
