School Newsletter - 6th March 2024
A Message from our Deputy Principals
A school is made up of many working parts for it to be a successful learning environment. We are very proud to introduce to our school community our 2024 leaders. They have taken on the role of Student Councillors, House Captains, Librarians, Peer Mediators, Sports Councillors and Road Patrollers. In these roles, they ensure our students have a voice, that our students are safe and that our students have opportunities at break times to use equipment or solve friendship issues that otherwise might escalate. These roles take up our Leaders' break times and it is due to their strong sense of community and giving back that we are able to year after year ensure we have enough students to fulfil these roles. We are looking forward to a year of great ideas, reliability, commitment and empowering of our students to being the best they can be.
The Kohimarama Way - Honesty
"Be truthful in what you say and do." No doubt this is not the first time you have seen these words. A short statement yet so powerful. If we all followed this, imagine! How much richer our relationships would be, we could count on each other all the time - imagine!
Change of Assembly
Due to the Year 5-8 Swimming sports now being on Friday the 15th of March, we will not be having the Junior (Kiri/Cowley) or Senior (Hillary/Snell) assemblies on that day. Both assemblies will now be on the following Friday - Friday the 22nd of March at their usual times: Junior Assembly 11.30am; Senior Assembly 1.50pm.
Enrolments - is your child nearly 4 and half years old?
If this is you, you live in our Zone and you would like your child to attend Kohimarama School would you please get in touch with Helen O'Brien hobrien@kohimarama.school.nz to let her know and fill in an enrolment form. We must know of students who will be starting at our school in plenty of time to employ a new teacher for them.
