School Newsletter - 13th December 2023
A Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers
As we reach the end of 2023, it is with gratitude that I write our final newsletter for the year. It has been a year filled with achievements, both academically and on the sporting field. The spirit of the Kohimarama Way has guided us, creating a positive and collaborative environment for our students.
We extend our appreciation to our dedicated Board, whose unwavering support has been instrumental in navigating the successes of the year. Their commitment to our school's vision is truly commendable.
A special mention goes to our incredible PTA, whose ongoing support has made a significant impact. Thanks to their efforts, we've been able to enhance the learning experience for our students by acquiring essential CAPEX items. We are thrilled to announce that the Kiri Team playground works are scheduled to take place during the upcoming holiday, providing our students with an exciting new playground addition.
I would like to acknowledge one of our parents who generously provided a thoughtful gift to all our staff. This gesture serves as a heartfelt "thank you" for the care, support, teaching, and learning that has taken place throughout the year. It is a beautiful reminder of the strong sense of community that exists within Kohimarama School.

Staff leaving at the end of this year
Farewell to Kershnee Naicker
I would like to acknowledge Mrs Naicker, who on coming to New Zealand, landed at Kohimarama School. She set about learning the NZ Curriculum and making that part of her practice. Latterly Mrs Naicker was the acting team leader for Hillary team. We thank her for the many ways in which she has supported the school and the students in her care. We wish her well in future teaching endeavours.
Farewell to Claudette Ndenzako, our Librarian
We are also saying farewell to Mrs Ndenzako, who has looked after our well resourced school library for this year. Thank you Mrs Ndenzako for making the library a place to be, to read and to enjoy activities inside. We wish you the very best for the future.
I would like to take a moment to express my thanks to the incredible parent community of Kohimarama School. Your unwavering support and encouragement have been instrumental in creating a thriving learning community measured by our great academic results and sporting successes in 2023.
From volunteering your time to attending school events, camps and EOTC, you have consistently demonstrated a commitment to the education and well-being of our students. Your involvement has not only enriched the school experience for your own children but has contributed to the overall positive atmosphere of our learning environment.
The partnership between the school and parents defines a good school, and we are truly grateful for the collaborative spirit that defines our learning community. Your dedication to fostering a love for learning and providing a supportive foundation for our students sets them up for success.
I now take this time to wish you a wonderful summer break with your family. May you have special times with friends and thoroughly enjoy the holiday break. If you are travelling, I wish you a safe journey.
I look forward to meeting many of you again in the New Year.
