A Message from the Principal
Dear Parents
School Gala
On September 2nd we will gather at Sacred Heart College to celebrate the vibrant community of Kohimarama School. It's a celebration of the extraordinary support network that surrounds you and your family, and a chance to connect with friends.
It is with great gratitude that we are supported by Archipro as the main sponsor of the event. The monies raised from the evening will be going towards a specific project to upgrade the playground in the junior area of the school and with the connections Archipro has on their platform it will be made all the easier. I sincerely thank them for their support.
As the Gala approaches, we extend an invitation not only to celebrate but also to contribute in general. Your attendance and generosity will directly impact not only the longevity of this Bi Annual event but the future opportunities we can provide for our students. Please jump on to www.kohigala.com and secure your tickets.
I look forward to having the opportunity to thank you all in person in the evening. Let’s come together to celebrate, inspire, and make a lasting impact.
Reminder - Insight into Learning
The students and teachers would like to invite parents to visit their class/team to gain an insight into learning.
These days are designed for our current school parents to see, hear and feel how the school is supporting students learning within and across our learning environment.
Our school Local Curriculum, the way that we teach and learn at Kohimarama School, our essence statements about curriculum etc. are all available on our website at this address How we learn. In the dropdown on this page, you will be able to explore the learning philosophy etc. Please take time to review this and feel free to ask questions when you come to the Insights into Learning days.
The following table sets out when these insights into learning opportunities will be available for your child's area of the school.

Keeping Ourselves Safe
This programme continues to be taught across the school over the remainder of this week. Staff and students have been supported by Constable Gordon from NZ Police.
The programme fits within our Health and Wellbeing curriculum and is taught across many schools in New Zealand.
Interschool Cross-Country
Our students competed at the inter school cross country on Monday. The weather was atrocious but our staff members, Mr Forbes, Mr Viggo and Miss van Roon supported our teams on the day. Thank you to those parents who attended and supported the Kohimarama School Teams. This was most appreciated by our students.

Classes for 2024 - How you can help
Please complete this Google form if you have information that will support us in ensuring the best placement for your child/ren in 2024. There are a number of complex issues that go into making up classes, and an important factor is the historical information you have that we need to know. We will use this information to make the best possible class placement we can. Please provide all requests before Wednesday 13th September.
Leavers
As we begin our classroom planning for 2024, we ask those families who have made plans and have a student/s who will be leaving Kohimarama School at the end of 2023 school year to complete this form. The last day of school is 15 December 2023.
Note: The form does not need to be completed for Year 8 students.
Many thanks for your support in assisting us with our advance planning.
