A Message from Snell Team
From the 9th to the 12th of May, the year six hub went to Lakewood Lodge camp, where we stayed for 3 nights and 4 days while experiencing constant rain. Although it rained a lot, we still continued doing the activities and having fun. A time that we will remember from camp was going out clean and then coming back later drenched in mud. Our favorite meal at camp was nachos and mince with salad. There was a hall where we could play games like pool, ping pong, and foosball. On the very last night we had our camp concert where we saw many amazing performances and plays. But we mustn't forget the disco, where we sang many songs and danced a lot!
One thing we all remember from camp were the many activities, which all happened in the rain! A personal favorite activity of ours was the flying fox and archery, but there were many other activities that everyone enjoyed. Survivor was a very large part of camp, as it was pouring with rain when we did it, and it lasted nearly the entire day. Kayaking was an activity that most people enjoyed, because it was really fun, just as fun as the flying fox. Archery and the climbing wall was really hard for some people, although a few actually made it to the top of the wall. A sad part of camp was that we couldn’t actually ride the horses in horse games, because it rained. Low ropes was a very fun but freaky thing that we did, as there was a thing that tilted very quickly. On the last day we did multiple activities, such as tug of war, elf wizard giant (which was a game similar to paper scissors rock), and fishy fishy (which is like octopus). Overall camp was an amazing experience and we learnt a lot of new things and met some amazing people.

Health Curriculum Consultation
All schools in New Zealand are required to consult with their school community every two years regarding their Health Education programmes. We last ran this consultation in 2021, and now it’s time to do it once again.
Health Education is part of the Health and Physical Education curriculum. Learning in Health is guided by the New Zealand curriculum’s underlying concepts, Key Areas of Learning and the Achievement Objectives for each level. You will have a chance to have your say on the areas we cover and the programmes we utilise to deliver our Health Curriculum through completing a google form which will be emailed out to you this Friday.
We kindly request that you take a few moments to complete the survey by Friday the 23rd of June. We will also be collecting feedback from both the staff and a selection of the learners at our school.
Your contribution as a parent is vital in shaping the education we provide, and we genuinely appreciate your time and effort in completing this survey. (One key outcome from parent feedback last time was providing the opportunity for Year 5 girls to be included in a chat about pubertal changes with the Year 6 girls. This was made optional, and quite a few Year 5 girls made use of the opportunity last year).
Thank you and we look forward to gathering your feedback.

Photolife will be in school on Thursday 8th June to take classroom and individual photos. Please ensure your child has the correct school uniform on this day. Sibling photos are taken later on in the year.
